Benefits of Polycrystalline Mullite Fiber

High temperature stability
One of the remarkable properties of polycrystalline mullite fibers is their high-temperature stability. This material is able to maintain the stability of physical and chemical properties in high temperature environments of more than 1500 ° C, making it an ideal heat insulation and thermal insulation materials for high temperature industrial processes.

Thermal shock resistance
In environments where temperatures change rapidly, the thermal shock resistance of the material is a key factor in ensuring the stable operation of the equipment. Polycrystalline mullite fiber can withstand rapid temperature changes without rupture, thanks to its excellent thermal stability and microstructure flexibility.

Lightweight and efficient heat insulation
Polycrystalline mullite fibers have a low thermal conductivity, which makes them very efficient in terms of thermal insulation. At the same time, due to its fibrous structure, the material has a lower density than conventional refractory materials, which reduces the weight of the structure and improves energy efficiency.

Good chemical stability
In addition to its high-temperature properties, polycrystalline mullite fibers are chemically stable and resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids and alkalis. This characteristic makes it widely used in the chemical industry in the field of heat insulation, thermal insulation and corrosion prevention.

Easy to process and install
Polycrystalline mullite fiber can be made into products of different shapes and sizes, such as blankets, boards, paper, etc., which makes it possible to be cut and installed according to the specific needs of the application, providing great flexibility and convenience.

Production Process Of Polycrystalline Mullite Fiber

Polycrystalline fiber mullite fiber was prepared by chemical colloid method. The production principle is to make soluble aluminum and silicate into a colloidal solution with a certain viscosity, spray the colloidal solution onto the fiber embryo body by centrifugal differential method, and make aluminum silicon oxide polycrystalline fiber by high temperature heat treatment and other processes.

Polycrystalline fiber mullite fiber (PMF) is a new type of ultra-light high-temperature refractory fiber, which is a kind of Al2O3-SiO2 ceramic fiber. The acceptable aluminum and silicon salts are made into colloidal solutions with a certain viscosity, and the colloidal solutions are made into fibers by high-speed centrifugal tea house method, and then the crystal phase is transformed by high-temperature treatment. It is characterized by long Zhongjing, low heat, thermal conductivity, and high use temperature. It can be made of polycrystalline mullite fiber and then dispersed fiber cotton, or it can be made into various preforms or modules by wet vacuum forming.

FAQ

Q: What are the specific applications of polycrystalline mullite?

A: Polycrystalline mullite fiber cotton is widely used in high-temperature industrial fields, such as thermal power plants, refractory materials, aerospace, petrochemicals, high-speed railways, etc. It is also gradually being widely used in home building materials, vehicle sound insulation, pipeline insulation, and other fields. Due to its excellent thermal insulation performance, polycrystalline mullite fiber cotton has become an irreplaceable material in many high-temperature industries.

Q: Does ceramic weaken over time?

A: Some fired ceramic items can withstand many successive thermal shocks but, over time, they gradually weaken and eventually fail. Some materials that can survive sudden heating do not perform as well with sudden cooling. This typically happens when the item is glazed.

Q: How long does ceramic fiber last?

A: Under ideal conditions, ceramic fiber blanket can last up to 12 years. However, in some processes, its useful life can be shorter, reaching months instead of years. Therefore, it is recommended to consider the application of coatings or mixtures that extend the useful life of the insulation.

Q: What is ceramic fiber board made of?

A: Ceramic Fiber Products are types of Alumina – Silicate refectories, produced by melting and blowing high purity kaolin melt of Alumina and silica in arc furnace.
