Good Thermal Shock Resistance
It can withstand the drastic temperature changes caused by repeated baking and pouring suspension of the tundish without cracking or peeling.
Sufficient Medium and High Temperature Strength
Ensure the structural integrity during demoulding, lifting and installation of the working layer. During the baking process, the strength cannot drop significantly to prevent bursting or collapse. Sufficient structural support can still be maintained at long-term use temperature.
Lower Thermal Conductivity
This is the core indicator for achieving the thermal insulation function of the tundish permanent layer castable, requiring the material to have good thermal insulation performance.
Good Construction Performance
It is easy to vibrate and cast, can fill complex shapes and corners, and ensure that the lining is dense and void-free. The setting time is controllable to ensure sufficient construction operation time, and can quickly reach demoulding strength after hardening. Too much water will reduce strength, increase porosity and shrinkage. Although it does not directly contact molten steel/slag, it needs to withstand the high temperature transmitted from the working layer.
Good Corrosion Resistance
When the working layer is accidentally damaged or severely corroded locally, it can resist the erosion of molten steel or slag for a short time, thus buying time for handling the accident and protecting the steel shell.
