    Definition

Ceramic fiber wool refers to fibers produced by blowing or spinning, then aggregated into bulk fibers by a cotton collector or settling device. Also known as raw cotton fiber, it is the raw material for secondary fiber products. It typically appears pure white, similar to cotton, with slender, soft fibers and precise dimensions, making it easy to cut and install.

    Production Process

The main raw materials are kaolin, alumina, silica, hard clay clinker, coke, etc. Industrial solid waste such as fly ash, coal gangue, metallurgical slag can also be used as partial substitute raw materials. The raw materials are mixed in a certain proportion and placed in an electric arc furnace or resistance furnace to melt at a high temperature of over 2000℃. The melt is discharged from the furnace in a thin stream and blown onto the melt with a high-speed air flow to form fibers, or spun into fibers through an ultra-high-speed centrifuge.

    Product Categories

Based on refractory temperature, it can be divided into standard type (1050℃), standard type (1260℃), high-purity type (1260℃), high-aluminum type (1400℃), zirconium-aluminum type (1400℃), and zirconium-containing type (1400℃).

Based on the production process, it is mainly divided into aluminum silicate fiber blown cotton and aluminum silicate fiber spun cotton.

    Performance Characteristics

High temperature resistance: The long-term working temperature range is 950℃ to 1280℃, and the actual use temperature can be from -50℃ to 1280℃. It can withstand high temperature environment and is not easy to melt or deform.

Thermal insulation performance: low heat capacity and low thermal conductivity can effectively block heat transfer, reduce heat loss, reduce energy consumption, and achieve good thermal insulation effect.

Chemical stability: Except for hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkali, it can resist the erosion of most chemicals, maintain stable performance in different chemical environments, and is not easily corroded.

Thermal stability: It is not easy to pulverize at high temperatures and can still maintain good structural integrity and performance stability under long-term high temperature conditions.

Mechanical properties: It has excellent tensile strength and can withstand a certain amount of tension and external force. It is also shock-resistant and not easily damaged in a vibrating environment.

Sound absorption performance: It can absorb more than 80% of medium and high frequency waves above 500Hz, which can effectively reduce noise and provide a quiet working and living environment.

    Application Areas

Industrial field: Ceramic fiber cotton is widely used in industrial kilns, heating devices, high-temperature pipeline linings, etc., to keep warm and insulate, reduce heat loss, and improve the thermal efficiency of equipment; it is also used for thermal insulation of power boilers, gas turbines and nuclear power, as well as the wall lining of high-temperature reaction equipment and heating equipment in the chemical industry.

Construction field: It can be used for fire prevention and heat insulation of high-rise buildings, such as filling materials for fire shutters and fire doors, and exterior wall insulation systems; it can also be used as sound-absorbing materials for sound insulation and noise reduction in buildings, such as conference rooms, opera houses, recording studios and other places.

Other fields: Ceramic fiber wool is used for stress relief insulation of welded parts, stress relief insulation of special-shaped metal castings, and thermal insulation of furnace doors and top covers; it can also be used as a high-temperature filter material to filter impurities and dust in high-temperature gases.
