Corundum castable mainly refers to a-AL2O3, which is a refractory material with high-temperature main crystal phase. It has high refractory temperature, wear resistance, and structural strength, and is widely used as a castable for high-temperature industrial kilns in contact with solutions or wear-resistant layers. The main bone powder and powder of corundum castable are special high alumina alumina clinker, mixed with pure alumina cement binder, etc. It is an amorphous refractory material.
Classification of corundum castables:
1.Yabai corundum: Yabai corundum castable is made from calcined alumina or industrial alumina as raw materials, melted at high temperature in an electric arc furnace. It is white, with large crystals and many pores, with a porosity of basically 6% -10%. The main crystal phase is alumina micro powder, and the crystal shape is slender or diamond shaped. The content of alumina is basically above 98.5%.
2.Brown corundum: Brown corundum castables are obtained by adding a small amount of iron filings in an electric arc furnace at 2000 ℃, which removes impurities from natural high alumina combustion materials and carbon materials. It is a type of brown corundum material. The content of alumina is generally between 94.5% and 97%.
3.Special grade high alumina clinker: The content of alumina is over 85%, with particles of different sizes. The high-temperature main crystal phase of corundum castable is corundum phase, with a small amount of mullite crystals and glass phase.
