The addition of steel fiber can significantly increase the flexural strength of steel fiber-reinforced wear-resistant high-alumina bricks and improve thermal shock resistance, impact performance and wear resistance. Adding 1% steel fiber to steel fiber reinforced wear-resistant high alumina bricks can increase the post-fired flexural strength by 40% to 120%. Adding 1% steel fiber to steel fiber reinforced wear-resistant high alumina bricks, 10 hot and cold cycles The final flexural strength loss is only 10% to 30%, while the flexural strength loss of the same material without steel fibers reaches 40% to 60%. The lower the flexural strength loss rate, the better the thermal shock resistance. Steel fibers can inhibit the growth of cracks caused by thermal stress. Moreover, the fine cracks formed by the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the steel fiber reinforced wear-resistant high alumina brick matrix and the steel fiber can also offset the energy of large crack expansion caused by thermal stress. Of course, at different operating temperatures, appropriate steel fiber including addition amount should be selected.
