Refractory plastic is a refractory material that is made by mixing granular and powdery materials with binders and plasticizers such as plastic clay, adding a small amount of water, and fully mixing them into a hard mud paste that maintains high plasticity for a long time.
It has good thermal shock resistance and is easy to construct. It has high plasticity and medium and high temperature strength, good anti-stripping performance, and can increase the service life of the furnace lining. When the furnace temperature changes, the plastic lining can move in the horizontal and vertical planes, thereby resisting the stress fluctuations caused by the thermal gradient of temperature changes.

During construction, tamping machines or manual tamping can be used. Each time the material is added, the thickness is 80~100mm. After tamping, the surface is loosened, and then the material is added and tamping is continued until completion. According to the type of binder, temperature and humidity conditions, the refractory plastic should be naturally dried for a period of time before demoulding, because premature demoulding will cause cracks on the bearing surface of the anchor brick. When the temperature is around 25℃, it is appropriate to demould the plastic combined with phosphoric acid after 48 hours of natural drying, and it is appropriate to demould the plastic combined with aluminum sulfate and clay after 72 hours of natural drying.

Common Problem Solving
1.The surface dries quickly: spray to increase humidity or shorten the single construction area.
2.Local cracks: dig a V-shaped groove, apply adhesive, fill with plastic and tamp it.
3.Baking cracking: Stop heating and keep warm until the cracks stabilize before continuing.
Refractory plastic is an important refractory material. The correct construction method can ensure the density, thermal shock resistance and service life of its lining, and is suitable for the long-term stable operation of high-temperature industrial equipment. During construction, the manufacturer's technical guidance should be closely followed and the process parameters should be flexibly adjusted.
