Advantages and application areas of self-flowing castables
Self-flowing castable is a kind of castable refractory material that can flow and degas without vibration. Its characteristic is that it can be cast into various shapes of construction bodies without vibration by adding water appropriately without reducing or significantly reducing the performance of the castable. Self-flowing castable is especially suitable for thin-walled or complex-shaped parts that cannot be vibrated.
Self-flowing castable is developed on the basis of low-cement and ultra-low-cement castable. It is composed of refractory aggregates, powders and high-efficiency dispersants with a certain particle size distribution. The key is the particle size and quantity of ultra-fine powder and the reasonable use of high-efficiency dispersants, so that the castable can achieve self-flow and automatic spreading.
Compared with vibrating castables, self-flowing castables have the following advantages: (1) they can flow under their own weight without vibration; (2) they can spread automatically and reach places that vibrating castables cannot reach; (3) they can better ensure that the performance of the castable is fully reflected in actual use; (4) they can be pumped for construction, reduce labor intensity, and speed up the construction cycle; (5) they can reduce noise pollution; (6) they are easy to test on-site construction performance.
