
Self-flowing castables are a type of castable refractory material that can flow and degas without vibration (see refractory castables). Its characteristic is that it can be cast into various shapes of construction bodies without vibration by adding appropriate amount of water without reducing or significantly reducing the performance of the castable. Self-flowing castables are particularly suitable for use in thin-walled or complex-shaped parts that cannot be vibrated.
Composition Self-flowing castables are developed on the basis of low-cement and ultra-low-cement castables. It is composed of refractory aggregates, powders and high-efficiency dispersants with a certain particle size distribution. The key is the reasonable use of ultra-fine powder size, quantity and high-efficiency dispersants to enable the castable to achieve self-flow and automatic spreading.
Performance Self-flowing castables have the following advantages over vibrating castables:
(1) They can flow under their own weight without vibration;
(2) They can spread automatically and reach places that vibrating castables cannot reach;
(3) They can better ensure that the performance of the castable is fully reflected in actual use;
(4) They can be pumped for construction, reducing labor intensity and speeding up the construction cycle;
(5) They reduce noise pollution; (6) They are easy to test on-site construction performance.
Application Self-flowing castables have many advantages that other types of castables cannot match, so their scope of use is quite wide.
Product characteristics
High-aluminum self-flowing castables have been developed by reasonably selecting raw materials and particle size grading, and introducing ultrafine powder and high-efficiency dispersants. This castable has the characteristics of convenient construction, good volume stability, good thermal shock stability, etc., and is suitable for use in parts with complex shapes and narrow spaces.
