Aluminum silicate ceramic fiber special-shaped products are refractory fiber products made of refractory fiber as raw material, with alumina powder, and pressed by adding binder. Refractory fiber cotton (generally cut to less than 20 mm).

 

Inorganic binder and a small amount of organic binder are added to make fiber slurry in water, and then vacuum filtration or compression molding is used to make blanks of various shapes such as plates, cylinders or cones, and then the blanks are dried after demolding.

The manufacturing process of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber special-shaped products generally includes vacuum suction filtration molding and compression molding. The former is to cut the fiber to less than 20 mm, add inorganic binder and trace organic binder, and add refractory filler when necessary to make a suspension of fiber and water (commonly known as "slurry"), and filter it with a mold to make the fiber stack to form a green body, and then demold and dry it to become a product. The latter is to inject the "slurry" into a model with a screen bottom, pressurize, demold, and dry it to form a product.

The purpose of adding refractory fillers to aluminum silicate ceramic fiber shaped products is to improve the structural strength, density, high temperature resistance, and chemical stability of the products. Fillers are commonly used metal oxides, such as alumina, zirconia, high aluminum clinker, etc.

The purpose of adding binder to aluminum silicate ceramic fiber shaped products is to bond the fibers together and give the products appropriate strength. Organic binders generally use starch, phenolic resin, etc., while inorganic binders generally use silica sol, alumina, ball clay, etc.
