Flint clay

Flint clay

Calcined refractory generally refers to high-quality refractory material obtained by calcining raw refractory ore at high temperatures. The resulting calcined refractory exhibits stable chemical composition, uniform texture, and high density. It is widely used in clay-based and low-to-medium alumina refractory products and serves as a key raw material for industrial furnace and kiln refractories.

Product Details

Flint clay is produced by sintering natural clay at 1250–1350℃. It is classified into different grades such as YNS45, YNS44, YNS43, and YNS42, based on Al₂O₃ and Fe₂O₃ content. Flint clay typically contains ~44% Al₂O₃ and ≤2% Fe₂O₃. Typical fired colors include pure white, light gray, and pale yellow-brown, with minor iron impurities. It has a refractoriness of up to 1750℃.

In refractory formulations, Flint clay serves primarily as an aggregate material. Its stable crystalline structure enables it to withstand high-temperature thermal and mechanical stresses, helping prevent abnormal shrinkage or structural damage during service.

Compared to raw clay, Flint Clay has already undergone a high-temperature phase transformation process and no longer undergoes significant volume changes when reheated. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for use in industrial furnaces and kilns where dimensional stability is a critical requirement.

Shandong Haixin has over 30 years of production history, and its production equipment and processes are among the leading in China. The refractory briquettes it produces are characterized by their pure white appearance, low impurity content, high density, stable physicochemical properties, and excellent refractory performance, making them ideal materials for manufacturing high-quality refractory bricks, daily-use ceramics, building materials, and clay crucibles.
