The particle size of sillimanite, mullite and corundum fireclays varies according to the use requirements. The limit particle size is generally less than 1mm, and some are less than 0.5mm or finer. When selecting the material of sillimanite, mullite and corundum fireclay, it should be considered to be consistent with the material of the refractory products of the masonry. In addition to being used as caulking materials, sillimanite, mullite and corundum fireclays can also be used as protective coatings for linings by smearing or spraying.
Characteristics and applications of sillimanite, mullite and corundum fire clay:
1. Good plasticity and convenient construction;
2. High bonding strength and strong corrosion resistance;
3. High refractoriness, up to 1650℃±50℃;
4. Good resistance to slag erosion;
5. Good thermal spalling. Refractory clay is mainly used in coke ovens, glass kilns, blast furnace hot blast furnaces and other industrial kilns. Application industries include: metallurgy, building materials, machinery, petrochemicals, glass, boilers, electricity, steel, cement, etc.
