High Alumina Refractory Mud

High-alumina refractory mud is a kind of caulking material used for refractory masonry, and is a widely used special refractory material. It is used to build the furnace roof, heat storage chamber, combustion chamber, etc. on the hot blast furnace, and is used for the blast furnace bottom, furnace cylinder, furnace belly, furnace waist and other parts. High-alumina refractory mud can also be used to repair the furnace roof, furnace wall and other parts of the industrial kiln.

Composition The powder materials for making high-alumina refractory mud can be selected from fully sintered clinker and other various refractory raw materials with stable volume. The particle size of the powder material depends on the use requirements, and its limit particle size is generally less than 1mm, and some are less than 0.5mm or finer. Reasonable particle composition has a great influence on ensuring the construction performance of the mud, and the same is true for binders and admixtures. The binder used in ordinary refractory mud is binding clay.

 

 

With the higher requirements of users, chemical binders have been used more and more widely. Adding various admixtures to high-alumina refractory mud can improve the construction performance of the refractory mud, such as adding water-retaining agents to extend the water loss time and ensure the construction quality; adding plasticizers can increase the plasticity of the mud when the addition amount is small; adding dispersants to improve the fluidity of the mud, etc.
