Products Description

 

High alumina bricks are usually divided into four categories:

 

  • Special: Al2O3 content greater than 80%;
  • Grade I: Al2O3 content greater than 75%;
  • Grade II: Al2O3 content between 60% and 75%;
  • Grade III: Al2O3 content between 48% and 60%.

 

The load softening temperature of high alumina brick is 1400-1550℃, which is higher than that of general clay brick. The load softening temperature of high alumina brick with sillimanite, andalusite or kyanite is even higher. The load softening temperature of high alumina brick depends on its composition and microstructure. The relationship between the Al2O3 content in the high alumina brick and its load softening temperature.

 

a. Refractoriness

The refractoriness of high alumina bricks is higher than that of clay bricks and semi-silica bricks, reaching 1750~1790℃, and is a high-quality refractory material.

b. Softening temperature under load

Because high alumina brick products contain high Al2O3, less impurities, and less fusible glass, the softening temperature under load is higher than that of clay bricks, but because mullite crystals do not form a network structure, the softening temperature under load is still not as high as that of silica bricks.

c. Slag resistance

High alumina bricks contain more Al2O3, which is close to neutral refractory materials. They can resist the erosion of acidic slag and alkaline slag. Because they contain SiO2, their ability to resist alkaline slag is weaker than their ability to resist acidic slag.
