General Roasting Rotary Kiln

The preparation method of refractory materials for general roasting rotary kiln is simple and reliable. The refractory materials prepared have the advantages of high compressive strength, good wear resistance, good thermal shock resistance and strong resistance to medium erosion. The construction is convenient, which greatly extends the service life of the rotary kiln refractory materials, ensures the normal production of the enterprise, and minimizes the maintenance time and reduces the maintenance cost.
The quality of rotary kiln refractory materials affects whether the rotary kiln can operate stably. The refractory materials of the rotary kiln should have the following characteristics at the same time:
(1) High temperature resistance. It can operate in a high temperature environment above 800 ℃ for a long time.
(2) High strength and excellent wear resistance. The refractory materials in the rotary kiln need to have a certain mechanical strength to withstand the expansion stress at high temperature and the stress formed by the deformation of the rotary kiln shell.

(3) Good chemical stability and thermal stability to resist the corrosion of chemical substances in the flue gas and withstand the alternating thermal stress under the incineration state.
(4) Good thermal expansion stability. Although the thermal expansion coefficient of the rotary kiln shell is greater than that of the rotary kiln refractory material, the shell temperature is generally around 150-300 ℃, while the temperature resistant to the refractory material is generally above 800 ℃. This may cause the refractory material to have a larger thermal expansion than the rotary kiln shell and be easy to fall off.
(5) The porosity should be low. A high porosity will make it easy for flue gas to penetrate into the refractory material and corrode the refractory material body.

Refractory materials for rotary kilns

The lining of the kiln shell is generally built with high-alumina bricks or phosphate high-alumina unburned bricks. Sealed covers are installed at the kiln head and kiln tail to prevent cold air from being inhaled to reduce oxidation losses. The lining of the cover is generally built with clay bricks. The service life of the rotary kiln is generally 200~300d; if the non-working layer of the kiln lining is poured with lightweight refractory castables, the working layer is poured with high-alumina refractory castables with an AL2O3 content of 75%, which has good integrity, high strength, and wear resistance, so the service life is better than that of bricks, and the service life can reach 1a.

Bulk refractory materials should be selected according to drying or calcination and its temperature, the material of the burning material in the kiln, etc. Generally, plastics are used in the combustion chamber, and castables are used in other parts. Metal supports use V-shaped or Y-shaped fasteners and are welded to the outer shell.

Examples of rotary kilns using bulk refractory materials include kilns for incinerating waste, calcining aggregates, and burning cement.

 

 

Kilns for incinerating waste use water-resistant castables in the charging area, wear-resistant castables in the drying zone, and high-alumina castables with crack resistance in the belt.

All kilns for calcining aggregates use high-alumina castables with high crack resistance. Cement kilns use wear-resistant castables in the loading area and drying zone. In addition, the burner forms a high-temperature zone near the discharge port, and cold air is sent in at the same time. The use conditions are harsh, so high-alumina plastics with high crack resistance are used, and there is no peeling caused by cracking like refractory bricks, which has achieved very good results.
