Description
product-800-800

Steel fiber castables are formulated with calcium aluminate cement as the binder, combined with refractory aggregates, powders, additives, and stainless steel fibers. The steel fiber content typically ranges from 0.6% to 2.5%.

These castables maintain excellent structural integrity at high temperatures and offer strong wear resistance and high thermal shock resistance, making them suitable for applications involving mechanical vibration, thermal shock, and severe abrasion under high-temperature conditions.

According to the type of aggregate used, stainless steel fiber reinforced refractory castables can be classified into several types, including clay-based, high-alumina, silica-based, and magnesia-based castables.

Furnace linings typically consist of three temperature zones: high, medium, and low. When refractory castables are used, a weak zone can form between the low- and high-temperature areas. Stainless steel fibers play a critical reinforcing role in this zone by connecting the inner and outer linings, delaying crack formation, and, in the event of cracking, holding the lining on both sides of the crack to prevent premature spalling.

Stainless steel fibers also reinforce the high-temperature working zone of the lining, improving toughness, resistance to mechanical impact, and thermal shock resistance, thereby extending the overall service life of the furnace lining. Increasing the steel fiber content further enhances the castable's toughness and impact resistance.

Steel fiber castables are available in different grades, such as "302", "310", and "330", depending on the chromium and nickel content of the stainless steel fibers. Higher chromium content improves oxidation resistance, while higher nickel content enhances high-temperature toughness and mechanical strength.

Relying on its automated monolithic refractory production line, Shandong Haixin Refractory Materials strictly controls the specifications, proportions, and dispersion uniformity of steel fibers, ensuring consistent workability, wear resistance, and service life, and providing reliable support for complex engineering applications.

Excellent crack resistance: Steel fibers effectively inhibit crack propagation and reduce the risk of spalling.

High wear and erosion resistance: Ideal for high-wear zones exposed to material erosion and mechanical abrasion.

Excellent thermal shock resistance: Capable of withstanding frequent start-ups, shutdowns, and temperature fluctuations.

Strong structural integrity: Enhances the safety and stability of furnace linings during long-term operation.

Consistent construction performance: Suitable for conventional casting methods with reliable workability.

Steel fiber castables are widely used in circulating fluidized bed boilers, steel rolling heating furnaces (bottom water pipe wrapping and furnace rollers), soaking furnace covers, forging furnace inner linings, iron tapping groove covers, steel tapping trough linings, and other high-wear industrial furnace components.
Their service life is 2–5 times longer than that of ordinary refractory bricks or conventional castables, providing significant technical and economic benefits.

Typical Applications:

Circulating fluidized bed boilers: furnace, cyclone separator, return feeder

Cement industry: preheater, decomposition furnace, feeding pipelines

Waste incinerators: high-scouring and high-wear zones

Metallurgical industry: troughs, sluices, tapping channels

Other industrial furnaces: areas subjected to severe mechanical wear and impact
