Refractory sprayable castables consist of refractory aggregates and powders, combined with binders, mineral additives, plasticizers, and sintering aids. Water is added during installation to achieve the required spraying consistency.
Common base materials for sprayable refractories include silica–alumina, magnesia, corundum, and phosphate-bonded systems.
Refractory sprayable castable is a refractory material designed for spray application. Using specialized spraying equipment and compressed air, it is sprayed at high velocity onto the substrate, rapidly forming and firmly bonding to create a dense, continuous refractory lining.
It is commonly used as a protective layer on the inner surfaces of blast furnace and hot blast stove shells, as well as a working lining for blast furnace tops, gas outlet pipes, and dust collectors.
