Low Cement Refractory Castable

      Low cement refractory castables are produced using CA-70 calcium aluminate cement as the binder, combined with refractory aggregates, powders, and additives in carefully controlled proportions. After water addition, the mixture is mechanically mixed, cast, and cured to form a dense monolithic refractory lining.

      These castables are characterized by rapid hardening, high strength, relatively low cost, readily available raw materials, and convenient construction. When formulated with aluminosilicate materials, they also exhibit a certain degree of resistance to sulfate attack.

      The typical service temperature of this type of castable is around 1400 °C, and it is commonly used in industrial furnaces such as heating furnaces, boilers, and petrochemical processing furnaces. It has also been successfully applied in low-temperature thermal equipment within metallurgical systems.

      The maximum service temperature of low cement refractory castables can reach approximately 1500 °C, meeting the requirements of many general industrial kilns. When heated above about 1200 °C, sintering occurs due to the increasing liquid phase, resulting in the formation of a ceramic bond. As a result, the strength of the castable increases with rising temperature, while maintaining a high load softening temperature and good refractoriness.
