High Alumina Refractory Bricks for Casting

High alumina refractory bricks for casting are a kind of refractory material made of bauxite as the main raw material, and its alumina (Al2O3) content is not less than 48%. This kind of refractory brick has high thermal stability, refractoriness and good slag resistance, and its refractoriness is above 1770℃.
High-alumina refractory bricks are widely used in various high-temperature industrial environments due to their excellent performance, including but not limited to thermal boilers, glass kilns, cement kilns, fertilizer gasification furnaces, blast furnaces, hot blast furnaces, coking furnaces, electric furnaces, casting and steel pouring bricks, etc. In addition, high-alumina refractory bricks are also used for lining steel ladle, with high refractoriness, no deformation, regular appearance, smooth flow path, good resistance to cracking, no peeling and strong erosion resistance, ensuring its stability and safety in high-temperature working environments.

Use high alumina bauxite clinker to mix with some combined clay to make refractory products with Al2O3 content of 48%~55%, which are used to build steel casting system in steel ladle.

Ingot high alumina bricks refer to sleeve bricks, plug bricks, nozzle bricks and seat bricks in steel ladle. In 1954, China first successfully trial-produced high aluminum plugs and nozzle bricks in Chongqing No. 1 Iron and Steel Plant, replacing clay bricks, thus overcoming the frequent steel leakage accidents in steel casting.

Manufacturing process Select sintered GAL-50 bauxite, the fluctuation of Al2O3 content in clinker should be small, and the critical particle size should not exceed 2mm. Use clay with good plasticity and low Fe2O3 content to mix and grind with bauxite clinker. The mixed mud must be trapped. The density of the brick blank must be uniform, no cracks are allowed, and there are no hairline cracks on the surface. The curvature of the working surface of the plug and nozzle brick blank must be smooth, and the kiln must be packed. After firing, the products must be checked and matched piece by piece, and the joints between the pouring mouth and the plug must be gently ground to achieve close contact, and then packaged and shipped in pairs.

 

 

Use During transportation, the sub-mouth and the mother mouth or the edges of the bricks must not be damaged. After the paired plugs and the water outlets are built on the bottom of the barrel and the plug rod, it must be checked whether they are installed correctly and in close contact. They must be baked before pouring.
