The magnesium and magnesium-calcium coatings used in the continuous casting tundish are alkaline refractory materials that can effectively absorb harmful non-metallic inclusions such as S and P in the molten steel. The low SiO2 content can purify the composition of the molten steel. They have the characteristics of good corrosion resistance, slag resistance, and long service life. They are suitable for the smelting of various carbon steels, alloy steels, special steels, stainless steels, etc. Appropriate addition of fibers and a small body density can effectively prevent the cooling of the molten steel, thereby playing a role in heat preservation, non-sintering, and improved anti-burst properties. After use, the coating gradually develops network cracks during cooling, and the coating and the permanent layer are loose and easy to fall off from the permanent layer. It has good disintegration properties and can meet the requirements of continuous steel casting for 10 to 40 hours.
