Silicon carbide has a large thermal conductivity and a small thermal expansion coefficient. It is difficult to be corroded by molten steel or slag, has strong oxidation resistance, does not stick to iron slag, and is wear-resistant. It is a high-quality raw material that can directly contact molten steel or iron slag;
Silicon micropowder is the matrix component of corundum silicon carbide castables. After high temperature, it plays a role in connecting or bonding refractory aggregates, filling pores, achieving close stacking, and the fluidity and volume stability of the corundum silicon carbide refractory castable mixture. It can also promote sintering and improve the density, strength, high-temperature performance and use performance of the material (casting body); pure aluminate cement is a high-temperature resistant bonding material, which makes the cast lining have sufficient strength and high-temperature resistance at high temperatures. Kyanite is an expansive material, which expands in volume at high temperatures, preventing the castable from shrinking in volume at high temperatures, and improving the overall air tightness of the kiln lining.
Explosion-proof fiber is a fibrous material that can burn at low temperatures. During the baking stage, capillary pores are formed before the water vapor is formed. The water vapor is discharged through the pores to prevent the lining from cracking or peeling due to uneven heating.
Uses of corundum silicon carbide castables: Mainly used as lining materials for high-temperature equipment for non-ferrous metal smelting, such as the side walls of aluminum electrolytic cells, trays and walls of zinc distillation towers, etc. It has the characteristics of high thermal stability and thermal conductivity, will not be wetted by non-ferrous metals, good corrosion resistance and high thermal conductivity. It is mainly used as the lining of iron ladles and torpedo tanks, and the lining of iron ditch. It has the characteristics of resistance to erosion by slag, molten iron and alkali metals, strong oxidation resistance, good wear resistance and erosion resistance at high temperatures, and can improve the life of the container.
