It has the characteristics of convenient construction, high adhesion rate, and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for gunning various parts such as the converter ear shaft and slag line.

3. The furnace repair bricks use various levels of sintered magnesia, fused magnesia, asphalt, and graphite as raw materials, and are pressed into a certain size by a friction machine. It is mainly repaired on the large surface before and after the converter, which can significantly increase the service life of the converter.

Converter refractory gunning materials are divided into magnesia, magnesia dolomite, magnesia chrome and magnesia calcium. The binders are generally sodium silicate, phosphate, tar asphalt and resin. At the same time, additives such as borax, bentonite and active SiO2 are added, and the dosage is generally 1%~3%. This type of material can be sprayed by semi-dry or dry method, or by manual filling, which is an important measure to increase the service life of the converter.

When the critical particle size of the converter refractory gunning material is 3mm, its particle grading is: 3~1mm, 30%~50%; 1~0.15mm, 30%-35%; <0.15mm, 20%~40%; when the critical particle size is 5mm, its particle grading is: 5~3mm, 20%~35%; 3~1mm, 20%~30%; 1~0.15mm, 10%-15%; <0.15mm, 20%~25%; when manual filling is used, refractory filling material with a critical particle size of 10mm can be used. The critical particle size and particle grading of the refractory gunning material should be determined according to the spraying machine, spraying process, damage to the old furnace lining and its working conditions. Proper selection can reduce the rebound rate, that is, improve adhesion, increase volume density and strength. In other words, the critical particle size and particle grading of the refractory gunning material are the key to obtaining a good gunning layer.

 

In the process of converter steelmaking, the lining gunning is divided into preventive gunning and maintenance gunning. The former is gunning once every 3 to 5 furnaces in the middle of the converter use, and the latter is gunning regularly when the lining is damaged. In the consumption of refractory materials per ton of steel in the steelmaking converter, the consumption of gunning lining accounts for about 1/4. When manual filling is used, the critical particle size can be set to 10mm, and an appropriate amount of iron scale or tar asphalt can be added. The mixed material is thrown to the damaged part with a shovel, so this material is called refractory filling material. Refractory filling materials are also commonly used in steelmaking converters and electric furnaces for furnace filling.

 

At the intersection of the front wall of the mixing furnace and the two sides of the iron outlet, phosphate magnesium calcium sand refractory gunning material is used for gunning. The thickness of the gunning layer is 200~250mm, the rebound rate is less than 15%, and it is generally used for more than 30 days. Petrographic identification proves that a new high-temperature phase of calcium sodium phosphate is generated at high temperature, so it has a better use effect.
