Corundum mullite castables are primarily produced from bauxite clinker, brown corundum, white corundum, andalusite, and synthetic mullite. Fine corundum powder and bauxite-based fines are used as the matrix, while ultrafine powders serve as binders and functional additives.

Some formulations also incorporate heat-resistant stainless steel fibers and trace additives to enhance performance.

Industrial-grade mullite is predominantly synthetic, offering high purity, high density, and excellent properties, and is widely used due to the limited availability of natural mullite.

In corundum mullite castables, mullite phases are formed in situ in the matrix at high temperatures, improving high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance.

The material exhibits high compressive strength at elevated temperatures, excellent thermal shock resistance, good spalling resistance, high-temperature volume stability, high load softening temperature, low creep rate at high temperatures, and strong resistance to chemical corrosion.

The addition of heat-resistant stainless steel fibers helps reduce temperature gradients between the aggregate and matrix, relieve thermal stresses during furnace start-up and shutdown, and improve the overall strength of the furnace lining.

The strength and toughness of synthetic mullite increase significantly as temperature rises, while corundum exhibits higher hardness and density than mullite.

Corundum mullite castables are widely used in petrochemical tubular heating furnaces, diesel and ethane cracking furnace linings, atmospheric and vacuum distillation furnaces, sulfur recovery units, and steam boilers.

They are also suitable for hexagonal mesh linings, single-layer insulation linings for furnace shells and pipelines, furnace doors, inspection ports, observation ports, wear-resistant linings in large power plant boilers, gasifiers, circulating fluidized bed boiler linings, and pulverized coal injection (PCI) pipes for cement rotary kilns and other high-temperature kilns.

Q1: Is it suitable for high-temperature working layers?
A: Ideal for high-temperature working linings requiring excellent thermal shock resistance.

Q2: What is the biggest difference between it and pure corundum castable?
A: Corundum mullite castables offer superior thermal shock resistance and a better overall cost-performance ratio compared to pure corundum castables.

Q3: Is it suitable for furnaces that are frequently started and stopped?
A: Well suited, as the mullite structure effectively relieves thermal stress during frequent start-ups and shutdowns.

Q4: What is the typical lifespan?
A: Under the same working conditions, its lifespan is generally much longer than high-alumina castables and comparable to that of high-end corundum systems.

Q5: Do you support custom recipes?
A: We provide customized solutions tailored to customer requirements, including specific performance, specifications, and dimensions.

Q6: Is it suitable for large-volume monolithic casting?
A: The product has excellent volume stability and is resistant to cracking during monolithic casting, ensuring the overall integrity of the furnace lining.

Q7: Does Shandong Haixin provide engineering experience support?
A: Shandong Haixin has extensive experience in metallurgy, power, and cement industries, providing proven application expertise and technical guidance.

Q8: Do you support OEM/ODM cooperation?
A: Yes, we support OEM and ODM partnerships and can provide flexible solutions from product customization to end-to-end services tailored to customer needs.
