Large Refractory Bricks for Glass Kiln

Large Refractory Bricks for Glass Kiln

This product is formed by pressing or pouring, and has excellent resistance to glass liquid erosion. It is mainly used in the bottom and wall of glass kilns.
There are many ways to form large refractory bricks for glass kilns. It can be formed by hand, ramming, extruder, mud casting and press high pressure. Even if the chemical composition and raw material types of clay bricks are exactly the same, they will have different properties due to different forming methods.
In clay bricks produced by various forming methods except high pressure forming, the content of binders is relatively high, so the firing temperature cannot be very high. This kind of brick has a low load softening temperature, large reburning shrinkage and high porosity.

Description
product-800-800

The clay bricks produced by the slurry casting method and the high-pressure molding method have a relatively uniform organizational structure. The clay bricks produced by other molding methods have an uneven organizational structure, and there will be layered structures and other problems, which will cause problems such as directional cracking and internal cracks.

In the glass pool furnace, the bricks used for the regenerator wall and the checker bricks are small in size, and it is best to use a high-pressure press to mold the products. For large glass kilns, large refractory bricks, pool wall bricks, trough bricks, etc. are best to use the vacuum exhaust slurry casting method. For products with precise size requirements, it is very good to use the ramming method to mold.

Aggregates and binders

product-942-348

Large refractory bricks for glass kilns generally have different corrosion resistance between the aggregate and the binder of the refractory material. The corrosion resistance of the aggregate is better than that of the binder. When the corrosion resistance of the two is different, the binder will be corroded first, causing the destruction of the entire refractory material. This problem is not significant in clay bricks, because the aggregates and binders used in this brick are both refractory clay. The difference is that the aggregates are calcined, while the binders are not calcined. The properties of the two are similar and the corrosion resistance is basically the same.
