According to fluid mechanics, corundum self-flowing material uses its own gravity flow performance. It is composed of refractory aggregates, powders and high-efficiency dispersants with a certain particle size distribution. The key is the reasonable use of ultra-fine powder size, quantity and high-efficiency dispersants, so that the castable can achieve the effect of self-flow and automatic spreading. It flows level without vibration and does not segregate. It has good high temperature resistance and thermal shock stability, and is resistant to erosion and erosion. Depending on the model, it can be used in the bottom of the ladle and around the seat bricks, the furnace cover in the triangular area of ​​the electric furnace top, the burner bricks, the ladle, the permanent lining of the tundish and other parts. Corundum self-flowing material is a high-tech product developed based on the solid fluid theory and the application characteristics of refractory materials. Corundum self-flowing material can degas and level without vibration by its own gravity, thereby achieving densification.

Corundum self-flowing material has the following advantages: good fluidity and reasonable solidification time; labor-saving, quick and convenient; high strength and long life; good thermal insulation performance, high temperature resistance, good thermal shock stability, erosion resistance and erosion resistance.

Corundum self-flowing material can be used in all parts of low-cement castables, ultra-low-cement castables, and cement-free castables. Corundum castables are suitable for filling the bottom of the ladle and around the base bricks, and the top of the electric furnace; mullite self-flowing material and high-aluminum self-flowing material are suitable for the permanent lining of the ladle and the middle ladle, the water-cooling pipe wrapping, and the top and wall of the heating furnace. In addition, self-flowing materials can also be mechanized.

 

 

The main application of corundum self-flowing material is the narrow parts of the kiln and the repair of damaged linings, and its characteristics can be fully demonstrated. The various self-flowing refractory castables introduced above can be used for furnace repair. In addition, high-temperature hot self-flowing repair materials generally use asphalt and phenolic resin as binders or composites, and the critical particle size of the material is 5mm.

The self-flowing degree of corundum self-flowing material is different due to the different types of refractory aggregates used. For example, when 99.4% Al2O3 of fused white corundum, 94.5% Al2O3 of fused brown corundum, 98.7% Al2O3 of fused alumina-based corundum and 98.9% Al2O3 of dense corundum are used as refractory aggregates, and their bulk densities (g·cm-3) are 3.42, 3.82, 3.83 and 3.83 respectively, when the material mix ratio and water dosage are exactly the same, the self-flow rate of the castable is 82%, 144%, 155% and 157% respectively. Because fused alumina-based corundum is dense, with a water absorption rate of 0.6%, while fused white corundum is 3.1%, the fluidity of the self-flowing corundum prepared with fused white corundum is lower than that of the other three aggregates. When preparing self-flowing refractory castables, materials with high bulk density, low water absorption rate and few impurities must be selected as refractory aggregates.
