Zirconium refractory slurry
Zirconium refractory slurry is made of zircon (or zirconium corundum) as refractory aggregate and powder, aluminum phosphate as binder, and some additives, and is prepared in proportion. It has low high-temperature thermal conductivity, good thermal shock resistance, chemical stability, good corrosion resistance to molten glass and liquid metal, stable operation in an oxidizing atmosphere, and no chemical reaction with molten metal. It is a good hot-hard amorphous refractory material. Zirconium ramming mass is widely used in thermal equipment such as glass kiln bottom, ladle and circulating fluidized bed boiler.
Sealing coating is a layer of refractory material applied to the surface after the masonry is completed. The main function is to prevent air leakage in the refractory brick masonry and improve the masonry's resistance to high-temperature airflow. First, it must be firmly bonded to the refractory bricks, and it must not fall off after being applied at room temperature, and it will not peel off during the heating process.

Second, it can form a high-viscosity protective layer at high temperatures to prevent the refractory material from being corroded.

1. Composition

The chemical composition of the sealing coating should be basically similar to that of the refractory material to be coated. Its chemical composition should ensure that it can be sintered with the refractory material at high temperature. A high-viscosity protective layer can be generated under the action of the etchant. Therefore, its composition contains slightly more low-melting-point oxides than the refractory material.

The components of the sealing coating are basically the same as those of the refractory mud. However, the amount of plastic clay should not be too much. Otherwise, it is easy to crack and peel off. Therefore, the binder can use some sodium sulfite pulp waste liquid or water glass.

 

 

2. Particle size

The particle size of the sealing coating is required to be high. If the particle size is too small, it will shrink greatly during drying and sintering and is easy to peel off. If the particle size is too large, it is difficult to apply it to the surface of the refractory material. Therefore, the maximum particle size cannot exceed 1 mm, and the fine powder less than 0.2 mm cannot exceed 50%.
